The Municipality of Tirana held a public hearing for the central park of
the New Boulevard, which will be six times bigger than the current
Rinia Park in the center of Tirana.
Mayor Erion Veliaj said they have a project for building the boulevard and developing the entire area as a whole, which be home of up to 100.000 residents in the near future.
“The matter is if will be functioning as a city only when there is an emergency, or we start looking at the big picture and plan things 3 or 4 years in advance, because we are founding a new neighborhood of Tirana. It will be a honor for our municipality, because we are going a live a mark in the city”, Veliaj said.
He added that the New Boulevard project will generate more revenues for the municipality, with which they will pay back the loans for realizing it, and also fund other projects.
