Serbia removes diplomats from Skopje, Macedonia

The Serbian Foreign Ministry has withdrawn its entire staff from Skopje,
while Macedonian authorities have no clue about this decision.

Belgrade had asked Macedonia to reinforce security in their embassy building, a request with which the Macedonian Interior Ministry had complied.

Serbia had good relations with the former Macedonian government, led by VMRO’s Gruevski.

After the Social Democrats led by #Zaev came to power, Serbian Foreign Minister Iviva Dacic had declared several times that they had made a mistake by recognizing Macedonia with the name “Republic of Macedonia”, rather than with “FYROM”.

Besides this, a Serbian secret service agent was seen inside the Parliament of Macedonia during the violent attack carried out on April 27th, when protesters entered the building and put the lives of MPs at risk, by also injuring the leader of the Alliance for Albanians, Ziadin Sela.
