The former Prime Minister of Kosovo, Bajram Rexhepi, died at 63 in
Turkey, where he was being treated in a hospital after a cerebral
hemorrhage that put him into coma.
Rexhepi was born in Mitrovica, graduated for medicine in Prishtina and worked until the ‘90s as a general surgeon at the Mitrovica hospital.
Nine years later he joined the Kosovo Liberation Army, serving as army doctor in the mountains of Shala.
Rexhepi underwent an operation in Kosovo and was moved to Turkey, where he stayed for several months under financial care of the Turkish Embassy in Prishtina.
