At the cave entrance, our ancestors used to make fires to bake meat and to sharpen their weapons.

It is difficult to comprehend that people have lived in this cave even 10.000 years ago, as discovered by archeologists only in 1995.

The Pellubas Cave is shaped like a tunnel. It is 70 meters long, 350 meters above the sea level. The temperature inside the humid cave is 11 degrees C, which makes it difficult for animals to leave inside, except for bats, which are numerous inside.

The Pellumbas Cave is one of the rare karst caves in Europe, with priceless values that need to be protected.

“This cave has huge archaeologic, historic, cultural and natural values. According to the Florence Museum of Natural Science, the remains found in the Pellumbas cave date 10.000 to 400.000 years ago. It is an extraordinary archaeologic, cultural, historic and natural monument. We recommend everyone to visit it because it is a really special experience”, says a guide.

An Italian couple met during the road told Top Channel that they had heard about this cave from and Albanian friend, and that they would continue their trip around Albania for 10 days.
