Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj said that the works started at Tirana’s
entrance, called “Zogu I Zi”, will bring o life a new minipark for the
city.

“Last year we completed the entrance of the Dritan Hoxha road which will undergo reconstructions during this year. This is just an aesthethical intervention. The new project includes a mini-park with a central space for artistic installations, which will vary depending on seasons. The rest of the space will water fountains and trees, so that the entrance of our city receives the same dignity as the ‘Skenderbej’ square”, Veliaj said.

This intervention will include the facades of surrounding apartment buildings, offering more positive vibes for visitors.

Veliaj said that one of the future projects will be an underpass at the “Shqiponja” crossing, which will resolve the constant problem of heavy traffic.

“The underground pass will be integrated with Tirana’s Greater Ring Road. We will see how the traffic will behave, so  that we can study a long-term solution for Zogu i Zi as well. It is very important to offer practical solutions but also aesthetics. This is why I am looking forward to see an entrance to Tirana which has the same decency as the entrance of any house of Tirana citizens”, Veliaj underlined.
