Before the elections of June 25th, the Albanian opposition was concerned
that the public administration would be used to manipulate the
elections.

For this reason, there was an agreement between the Rama government and the opposition, which took the control of key ministries with its Minister. One of these was the Minister of Interior, Dritan Demiraj.

Tonight’s guest on Top Story, Demiraj was asked if the agreement worked and if it should be done for the next election. The Minister of Interior was skeptic, and said that by what he saw these two months, it doesn’t work and it should not be repeated the next elections.

However, he said that the agreement softened the electoral climate and guaranteed several achievements, but not its main purpose. Demiraj said he has had good cooperation with the police so far in the fight against crime and cannabis plantations.
