The Parliament of Montenegro removed immunity of four opposition MPs, accused of encouraging violence inside the institution.

A similar measure was taken this February against two pro-Russian MPs, Andrija Mandic and Millan Knezhevic, after they started a fight inside the Parliament.

Mandic and Knezhevic were stripped of their immunity due to suspicions for being involved in a coup.

Four MPs are being stripped of immunity in total, after a very tense session that lasted until midnight. The motion against them was requested by the Prosecution Office.

Montenegro became a NATO member just a few months after a failed coup was avoided, allegedly planned by Russia.

The US Vice President Mike Pence will visit Podgorica this August, the highest official of the Trump Administration visiting Balkan.
