Defense Minister, Mimi Kodheli, met with her Macedonian counterpart

Macedonia’s new Defense Minister, Radmila Shekerinska, attended her
first foreign visit in Albania, invited by her counterpart Mimi Kodheli.

After a tête-à-tête meeting and with their respective delegations, Minister Kodheli confirmed Albania’s close cooperation with the Macedonian army, and she guaranteed that our country encourages the efforts of the new government in Skopje for their NATO accession.

“We value and encourage the efforts of Macedonia for reforms in the defense area. Albania, as a NATO member, follows these efforts closely. We will keep supporting Macedonia in their path towards NATO”, Kodheli said.

The Macedonian Defense Minister declared that she had a meeting with the counterpart of a friendly country, and that they discussed about mutual dangers both countries face and about a joint response to them.

“We discussed dangers both our countries have, such as the fight against fundamentalism, terror threats, and we confirmed further cooperation regarding these matters”, said the Macedonian Defense Minister, Radmila Shekerinska.
