One day before the Tirana Municipal Council will meet for approving the
decision to increase the tap water price, Mayor Erion Veliaj said that
this is being done to guarantee water supply 24/7 for citizens. However,
the Mayor says that citizens will be able to manage their spending even
with the new price.

“I want to appeal all citizens to save tap water, because we are on a situation of crisis. Within five years, with our investment plan, we want Tirana to have tap water 24/7/ If someone is concerned about the 20 ALL that is being increased with the price, they will be able to save that by closing the tap for just 10 seconds. But with a price as if we were in Bathore, we will have water as if we were in Korca”, he said.

The Mayor inspected the works at the Myslym Shyri and Muhamed Gjollesha Streets, at municipal unit 10. He added that residents should also help preserving them.

“We need to preserve this work. If we leave this area to work with other blocks, and illegal constructions start once again, we will not be able to make this a good city. We need everybody’s help. Citizens must notify the Municipal Police or the State Police for any act of vandalism. This will allow us to have a better result with the duration of investments”, Veliaj said.

He also appealed citizens to chose their administrators so that they can benefit from the funding schemes to serve the community. The urban rehabilitation will continue in 50 block around Tirana, making a total of 150 blocks for two years.
