Serbia’s President declaration that they need to be realistic for
Kosovo, was seen by Prime Minister Edi Rama as a small step towards
resolving a problem outside nationalistic tones.

“There is still a long way before we can get out of this tunnel which is full of brutal and bloody stories. However, in the past years there have been changes that even most optimistic people couldn’t imagine not long ago”, Rama writes on Facebook, underlining that this declaration also couldn’t be imagined by Serbia’s President years ago.

However, for Rama, this is the path that goes towards the light. The Prime Minister says there are difficult and mutual efforts to understand each other completely through a painful dialogue, on behalf of love for the children of both people, and on behalf of the responsibility current leaders have for peace between both nations.

Vucic says in this article that Serbia needs to resolve the Kosovo stalemate in order to progress. The Serbian President appealed for a stable and long-term solution.

“It is time for us, as people, to stop hiding our head in the sand like ostriches, but try to be realistic and not allow to lose our path, or give anyone what we already have. However, we must not wait to have what we lost time ago”, writes the former nationalist turned into a pro-european reformer.

“It is more important than ever to find an answer together, an answer that would be forever, and that excludes conflict”, Vucic said.
