After taking his oath as President, Ilir Meta shook hands with MPs and
Ministers present in today’s session, but he avoided Prime Minister Rama
while he gave a very warm greeting to former Prime Minister Berisha.

Present in the Parliamentary session for voting the President, which lasted only 10 minutes, were many high-level officials and foreign ambassadors, together with leaders of all religions in Albania.

In this session, following the protocol, Meta and Rama had a cold hand shake. Then Rama left the room before the President completed his meetings.

However, Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj was the last one to leave the room.
