Voting centers will be open for Democratic Party members throughout Albania this Saturday from 8:00 to 19:00.
Every member will have the chance to vote for the candidate who will lead their party in the next four years.
The ballot paper is simple, with just two names: incumbent leader Lulzim Basha and candidate Eduard Selami.
Albania’s biggest opposition party counts 103.000 members, 500 of whom have gone to other parties and 1500 have not refreshed their membership cards. A specific register will be used for new members, as Jemin Gjana, who leads the voting commission, says this would be a rightful answer to opponents who say that new members are being registered just to support Basha, as they promise to do everything possible to stop the DP from being held hostage.
