The Prime Minister of Macedonia, Zoran Zave, declared that the Ministry
of Justice is working with the draft-law regarding official languages,
which is expected to improve the usage of Albanian.

Zaev said that nobody loses with this law, and that everyone has the right to feel Macedonia as his own country.

One of the main conditions of the Albanian parties for this coalition was having a wide usage of Albanian.

The Macedonian Prime Minister confirmed that the law is being prepared, and that the government will approve it before the local elections of this Autumn.

He added that the current government aims to close suspended matters through open decisions, rather than hiding them.

The draft law, according to Zaev, will also be sent to the Venice Commission and European experts.

On the other hand, VMRO-DPMNE, whose supporters protested for more than two months against any advancement of the Albanian language, or what many of them see as the “Albanian platform”, or the “Tirana platform”, have softened their tones and said that their party is not against the Albanian language, and that their approach towards Albanians is positive.

Albanian parties in Maceddonia want Albanian to become the second official language.
