The decision was signed by the Greek Minister of Interior, Panos Skurletis, and was published on the official bulletin.
Official Athens says they based this decision on article 17 of citizenship. According to this article, citizenship is removed to someone who acts against the interests of Greece.
Sources say that this decision was taken after influence from what is called “Himara lobby”, an extremist group that goes against equal dialogue between sovereign countries, and who keeps asking Athens to hold extremist positions in bilateral matters.
