“The DAGGS” is an Arberesh musical band, made of young Arberesh
Albanians born in the Piana degli Albanesi town, Italy, the same boys
who welcomed the Albanian national team in Italy and made them feel at
home.

Piana degli Albanesi is one of the areas populated by Albanians who fled to Italy during the 15th century.  Among centuries, they have preserved their Albanian language and culture.

The boys created the musical band in 2013, which plays old and new Albanian Arberesh songs. Their purpose is to preserve the culture of the Albanian minority.

In 2015, the DAGGS were selected for the SUNS Contest, the European Festival of songs in minority languages, held in Caglary, Italy.

In 2017, Piana degli Albanesi were considerably noted during the Albania-Italy match in Palermo. “The DAGGS” performed live, invited by the Italian state TV, RAI.
