Analysts say Kosovo-Serbia dialogue lacks of good will

The dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia is not expected to start before
Autumn. Western representatives lobbied to reduce tensions in the
region, but recent events have brought back the old rhetoric.

Belgrade, currently undergoing transition, with Prime Minister Vucic about to take the Presidency, believes that the solution will come from the EU.

Dejan Anastasijevic told the weekly “Vreme” that the dialogue started without political will, and EU has exhausted their mechanisms to convince the parties. The first meetings, according to him, may be by Autumn.

“I don’t believe that dialogue will be interrupted, but it will be very slow and the implementation of the agreements will be postponed. I don’t believe there will be another form of dialogue, since there has been a huge investment on it, but it is clear that the parties have no interest”, Anastasijevic declared.

Marko Savkovic, from the Special Policies Fund, says Albanians and Serbs have exchanged harsh accusations, but the Kosovo-Serbian dialogue cannot be interrupted.
