Albanian PM: “Socialist Party, first force. DP is dangerous for the people”

The Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, may have had unhappy party
members for the agreement with the Democratic Party. While inspecting
the construction of the Pogradec Ring Road, he didn’t hide his pleasure
after he took an unusual message from a Socialist, who said that no one
had ever done what Edi Rama did.

But the agreement which plans building a political normality in Albania has not softened Rama’s tone for his adversary.

“Although DP entered the elections, they remain a threat for this country because of the lack of their vision and of their state-forming abilities. If we go back, we will be losing a chance and that would be a catastrophe”, Rama said.

Even after the agreement, Rama says that the judiciary reform is key for their campaign, the realization of the most difficult government mandate.

“The vetting law was done. Didn’t I tell you so? It will be voted by all of us, same as we voted the constitutional amends”, Rama declared.

But the final purpose is to achieve 81 mandate in a campaign with all parties running separately.

“This is a real race. Everyone wants to be first. SMI wants to be first. DP wants to be first. We are first. We don’t need to be first, but we are going to fight hard to receive at least 71 votes”, Rama said.

Rama demands votes from Democrats as well, who, according to him, owe him the fact that they are part of the elections now.

“If I didn’t appeal you yesterday to vote the Socialist Party, I will appeal you today. You owe us a little debt, after what has happened during the past 48 hours”, Rama said.
