On the Day of Europe, the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, spoke from
Gjirokaster and said that the old continent will be able to overcome the
current problematic crossroad.

s most important Union is on a crosswalk today. I am sure that the future is going to win, and the past will not imposed. Certainly that Europe is going to win, and not its opposition, as a fear from the future and from real justice”, Rama said.

The Prime Minister underlined that Balkan has a key need to be tied with Europe, which makes a proper detachment from the communist past.

“Albania is very late in this process. Same as the other countries of our region. This made us see clearly how quickly countries leaving communism joined the EU, an action decided by the weight of the past. The easier this burden, the quicker the path to sit in the table of the European family. In our region, this weight is heavier than in anywhere else”, Rama said.
