After a four-month marathon, the fifth edition of the Albanian ICT
Awards was finalized in a gala night this Friday, when winners were
announced.

“In six years of existence, Albanian ICT Awards has turned into a platform that aims to transform the technology sector in Albania”, says Mirlinda Karcanaj, Head of the Jury.

With the constant support of the “Dritan Hoxha” media foundation, Digitalb and a series of other sponsors, this year’s edition brought awards, prizes and gratitude for this category.

“I believe that the only chance for our country to catch up with the lost time is to encourage innovation and technological development, quicker than other nations. Albanian ICT Awards has kept a history of success and innovation in technology”, said the Deputy Prime Minister, Niko Peleshi.

“The Dritan Hoxha Foundation, which has the name of one of Albania’s most successful entrepreneurs and innovators, remains a loyal partner of this international initiative”, said Vjollca Dako, Executive Director of the “Dritan Hoxha Foundation”.

Winners for this year:

ICT Innovation of the Year: Labinot and Mimoza Bytyqi (Hello)
ICT Academic of the Year: Prof. Dr. Lule Ahmedi
ICT Mobility of the Year: Albi Zhulali (Softmogul)
ICT Diploma of the Year: Albana Roçi (Iris Recognition)
ICT Rising Star of the Year: Loran Pllana, Raesa Nikshiqi dhe Penda Smajlaj
ICT Females: Blerta Thaçi (Girls Coding Kosova)
ICT Public Service of the Year: Central Office for Real Estate Registration with “51 Servicez ZRPP” and the Kosovo Agency for Medical Products and Equipment, with the “Barnatari” project
ICT Cybernetic Security: Drinor Selmanaj, Rio Sherri

These candidates were selected among 106 applications from Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia, Presheva Valley and Diaspora.
