The Albanian Parliament voted to appoint Ilir Meta, leader of the
Socialist Movement for Integration, the next President of Albania.

88 Parliament Members were present in this round. Meta needed only 71 votes in favor. Only two out of 88 voted against.

An interesting fact, Prime Minister Rama sat on the chair of former Prime Minister, Sali Berisha.

23 Parliament Members signed the request to appoint Meta as President, 17 from the SMI and 6 from the Party for Justice, Unity and Integrity.

The Socialist Party supported Meta last night unanimously.
