The Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, participated the ceremony for the 65th anniversary of Albania’s first radio broadcast.

She said that when the Socialist Party was in opposition, the Military Secret Service spied on politicians of the opposition and diplomats.

Although the Prosecution couldn’t prove this claim, Kodheli was very direct with the secret service staff:

“When I took duty as Defense Minister in 2013, I was coming from the then opposition. Our politicians and diplomats were being spied by your service, creating a Pinocetian climate in a NATO member country in the middle of Europe. This is why I decided to clean this service”, Kodheli said.
