VMRO demands new elections in Macedonia

The VMRO-DPMNE insists for new central elections, together with the new
local ones, as the only way to overcome the political stalemate that has
paralyzed the country.

Nikola Gruevski said that his political force supports the request for early elections, brought by the Movement for a United Macedonia, whose members protested for more than 50 days.

“Voters feel betrayed. We have thousands of people  protesting for the past two months. The parties led by LSDM seem incapable to understand the revolt they have created among citizens”

The LSDM answered with a press release, saying that there will be a new  government, not new elections, based on the desire of 700.000 citizens, with a majority of 67 MP.

LSDM says Gruevski wants new elections to keep the political crisis as longer as possible, convinced that this will save him from accountability.

The President of Macedonia, Gjorgje Ivanov, reiterated his stance from a Hungarian TV, without stepping back.
