Today, the opposition blocked the roads leading to the capital of Albania, Tirana, on their 66th day of protest.

heir request in this civil disobedience act is still for Prime Minister Rama to resign and make way for a technical government, which, according to the opposition, would make sure to create free and fair elections.

Accompanied by his wife, opposition leader Lulzim Basha, sat with the protesters at the “Eagle” monument, saying that the fact that thousands of citizens were blocked for 60 minutes, is a small sacrifice for the Democratic Party.

“We are united in this national and European movement, with the determination to not give Albania to drug and crime, and to not give our freedom to the tyranny of corruption and government crime”, Basha said.

The opposition’s protest was held one day before the visit of the European negotiators for the crisis. Basha didn’t hide that the escalation of this crisis is just a warning of what is going to happen.

“This is just a warning, showing the determination of this popular movement, which is unchangeable for free and fair elections”, Basha underlined.
