The German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Gabriel, will arrive next Monday in
Tirana as part of a tour that continues with Serbia and Kosovo.

“We want to support Western Balkan countries with their path towards the establishing of a legal state, stability and welfare”, Gabriel declared, as quoted by Deutsche Welle.

“I will guarantee my colleagues that the EU path is still open, if they continue to implement reforms rather than division”, Sigmar declared.

The German Foreign Minister will stay this Wednesday in Serbia, where he will meet with the current Prime Minister and elected President, Alexander Vucic, who is also facing massive protests on the streets.

Thousands of protesters throughout Belgrade and 20 other cities asked him to leave power, claiming the elections were manipulated.

Next stop will be Kosovo, where Gabriel will get updated with the current situation and the reason of past tensions.

There are 550 German soldiers in Kosovo, part of the KFOR mission, nine years after it declared independence, which has not been recognized by Serbia.

In an interview for Serbian daily “Blic”, Gabriel explained that Germany supports the dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, and that it is important for the EU to have Belgrade and Prishtina normalize their relations.
