US State Department official: “Albania must not postpone or block elections”

The Deputy Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs at the
US State Department, Hoyt Brian Yee, who is attending a visit in Kosovo,
has also commented the elections in Albania.
The comment was given in an interview for RTK, and his suggestion leaves no room for wrong interpretation: “Albania must hold elections on the appointed date, June 18th”, Yee said.
The US official encouraged the Albanian opposition and all other parties to be part of the elections and not block them.
“If there are problems, the opposition and the governor must sit and dialogue, so that there can be free and fair elections”, Yee added.
