The Vienna Institution for International Economic Studies values that
Romania will be the “locomotive” of European economic growth for 2017.
Their growth is expected to be at 4%. After Romania comes Kosovo and
Albania.

The Vienna Institute experts say on their “Spring Forecast” that the economy in Kosovo will grow with 3.9% this year, while in Albania with 3.5%.

The progress of 2017 is not by chance, according to the report. Both states of the Albanian nation are expected to have the highest growth in Europe even in the next years, mostly due to the lower base and high infrastructure investments.

“The economic growth in Albania and Kosovo will be especially high for the next year, with an average of 3.8% a year”.

Economy in other countries of the region is expected to grow from 2.8% to 3.1%. The Vienna Institution values that all of Western Balkan, and even Central and Eastern Europe, are facing a better economic situation.

However, this reality is endangered by an increased political risk, especially with the dimmer role of the USA and EU in the region.
