Macedonia, VMRO MPs delay appointing of new Speaker

The Parliament of Macedonia has postponed once again the session for electing the new Parliament Speaker.

The session could have continued today, but long debates turned the procedure into a dead-ended path.

The Parliament Members of Gruevski’s VMRO-DPMNE keep holding the podium by making replies, to postpone the appointing of the new Speaker the longest possible.

The Albanian MPs have had consensus among them, except for the Besa Movement, who oppose the Talat Xhaferi, the candidate of the BDI for Speaker.

The session will continue today, Wednesday 29th, although not a single step was taken.

The Parliamentary procedures in Macedonia seem difficult. It is yet to be seen how they will proceed for voting the new Speaker.
