The Parliament of Macedonia is trying to continue with the procedures to
appoint the new Speaker, but Gruevski’s VMRO is trying to delay it the
longest they can.
Albanian politicians say that the solution will come through institutions, but the Besa Movement has changed the situation by not accepting Talat Xhaferi as candidate for Speaker, as proposed by BDI.
“This is a problem of parliamentary culture. Something that the public opinion must get used with. The good thing is that the debate is being held in Parliament. We will see how things will go from now on”, said Xhevat Ademi of the BDI.
The Besa Movement leader, Zeqirija Ibrahimi, said that the citizens said their word in the last elections. “The weaker the BDI, the stronger the Albanians of Macedonia will be”, Ibrahimi says.
When asked by Top Channel, the LSDM leader, Zoran Zaev, said that this campaign is being used to evade responsibilities, and that the current problems are not ethnic.
“They pretend they don’t understand the situation. This is shameful. It will not last forever. Their days are counted”, Zaev said.
VMRO insists that new elections are the only solution for resolving the parliamentary crisis, while Albanian parties are united in their appeal for an institutional solution.
