Deputy Prime Minister Niko Peleshi said there is no reason to protest
against land shakes in Zharrez. He said the residents’ protest only
accelerated a process already started by the government.

“There is no need to encourage an unnecessary sacrifice. Every discussion point has been addressed to. The government was not waiting for this protest to address the issue. The discussion points are included on the report of the work group. The discussions simply accelerated it”, he said.

According to Peleshi, the compensation starts next week. While the Ministry of Energy says that the usage of water injection has been interrupted since December 2016.

“We will decide within next week about the residences that will result as heavily damaged. There will be compensations from the state budget and the company too”, he said.
