Justice Appointment Council members will be chosen on January 27th

Parliament Speaker Ilir Meta announced that on January 27th, the
National Assembly of Albania will gather for selecting the members of the  Justice Appointment Council.

Meta said the procedure will be held in presence of the institutions authorized by law: the Ombudsman, parliamentary groups, foreign embassies and media. The candidates will also be present.

This institution will be established after the government passed a new Justice Reform. Its duty will be to verify the candidates who run for members of the High Councils of the Prosecution, the Judiciary, the Constitutional Court and who are not judges.
