PJIU: “Greece, still led by primitive nationalism, violates basic human rights”

The Party for Justice, Unity and Integrity has condemned the “absurd
reaction” of the Greek government against the Greek recruits of Albanian
origin.

PJIU says that by not accepting the different identity of their citizens, Greece is proving to be still under the influence of past century nationalism.

“It’s the same as if Albania rejected Greek minorities from being part of the army, let alone allowing them to be Parliament Members, Mayors or Ministers, as it happens in Albania”, the PJIU leader said.

PJIU reminds how the Greek government did nothing about scandalous case of an official parade held by the Greek army, in which there was chants calling for killing Albanians.

“Greek authorities are showing a huge lack of respect for human rights. They are showing a primitive behavior towards their own citizens”, the Albanian party says.

PJIU adds that Greece is the only EU country that doesn’t recognize minorities, and that doesn’t accept the fact that a Greek citizen could have a different nationality or religion.

“The crime against the Cham Albanians shows that this mentality which started in the past years, is continuing even today”, he adds.

The PJIU appeals the Albanian government to update the NATO partners with the constant violations made by Greece against Albanian ethnics, together with the respective instances of the Council of Europe, OSCE, EU and the UN, organizations in which the respecting of human rights is a priority.
