140 million ALL for seventh installment of former political prisoners’ compensation

New year starts with good news for former political prisoners. The
Albanian government will pay the seventh compensation installment and
the list of persons who will benefit has been confirmed.
“There are 245 people who will receive a total of 140 million ALL in the day to come”, said Ermira Shtino, Director of policies for former political prisoners at the Ministry of Social Welfare and Youth.
“The first category includes the former political prisoners who are still alive, based on the law amends made in 2014. This includes women, former prisoners who have passed away, but who have minor children. Former prisoners with diseases, those above the age of 75, and then others under 75”, Shtino specifies.
The Ministry also promises to pay the eighth installment within this year.
