Many prosecutors waited until the very last moments before the deadline
before handing over their applications for members of the High Council
of Prosecution, the authority that will not only guarantee the
independence and status of every Prosecutor, but it will also decide for
the future Prosecutor General.

18 Prosecutors from all levels have filed their personal applications at the Prosecution General, while a verification commission will be established to supervise the criteria.

The applications will then be kept on hold until the Constitutional Court publishes their arguments for the Vetting Law, then they will start its implementation.

The Community of Prosecutors will select six winners. The five other names will be selected from the lawyers’ community.

Meanwhile, 18 judges from all levels have applied for the High Council of the Judiciary. Within seven days, this Court will then verify the formal criteria and will officially publish the names of the candidates.

The six winners of the High Council of the Judiciary will also be voted by the judge panel. Five others will be appointed by the Parliament.
