The Albanian Foreign Minister, Ditmir Bushati, said that he favors the
implementation of the Ochrid agreement and that Tirana has no role in
the possible coalitions in Macedonia.

“For the first time since the Ochrid agreement, the Albanian parties are going above their ideologic principles and are agreeing for a series of matters, which should be detailed, and see how they will be implemented in practice. The Albanian parties have agreed with each other, but they have not agreed to become one single party, and that’s logical”, Minister Bushati said.

He added that Tirana will continue to support every process that guarantees democracy and stability in Macedonia. He underlines that Albania has not intervened in the internal matters of the neighboring country and has no interest for coalitions.

As for the implementation of the platform signed by all Albanian parties, Bushati says that this is the right moment for them to come together.

“Equality, freedom and democracy are the three basic elements of the Ochrid agreement, and they have not been implemented correctly, not as it has been foreseen by the Ochrid agreement. I believe that this is the golden moment for the Albanian political factor. They can come together and progress with these matters”, Bushati declared.

The Albanian FM also commented the arrest of the former Kosovo PM, Ramush Haradinaj, saying this is an unacceptable act. He added that after six years of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, this is the time to make a reevaluation of their commitment.

“We need a more active EU to prevent similar events in the future, because we cannot pretend to have dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, when there are arrest orders which provokoe destabilization situations in Kosovo”, the Foreign Minister declared.
