World Bank, 63.8 million EUR for Berat, Gjirokastra and Permet

The World Bank will fund 63.8 million EUR o urban infrastructure
projects in southern Albania, from the Coastline and to cities such as
Gjirokastra, Berat, Permet, to assist the local tourism.

The main purpose of this project is reducing poverty and increasing welfare in cities where this project will be implemented.

“Urban infrastructure is the main focus of the project, but for developing tourism, so that tourist who come for Albania’s seaside can visit the rest of the country too”, says Nertil Jole, Director of Territory Developing at the Urban Developing Ministry.

The implementation of the loan will take five years, but the first investments will arrive in early 2017.
