PM Rama: “Opposition’s consensus came only after Justice Reform had all the 94 votes”

“They complain that a dark hand is breaking consensus, just because they are asked to do their duty in the Commission and conclude the key Vetting law, without which Brussels cannot start EU negotiations with Albania”, Rama said, adding that the DP is still launching accusations against an imaginary conspiracy they have “destroyed with consensus”.

“In fact, they gave consensus only when the DP wall cracked and Parliament had all the 94 votes, and only after facing the political and personal consequences by the EU and USA after July 21st for everyone who would vote against”, Rama added.

“However, the truth covered by this lie was revealed by our strategic allies, a few moments ago”, Rama said, and posted the EU and US request for a swift voting, as follows:

Both EU and US have urged a swift adoption of the 7 laws, vetting law first among them, in order to expedite the implementation of the Justice Reform package.

A joint declaration says this has been communicated to all political leaders, and Speaker Meta has confirmed that he as a speaker is ready to call for an extraordinary session of the Parliament as soon as the Constitutional Amendments enter into force ( 11 August), given that parliamentary party chairs agree to this.

Swift adoption of the implementing laws is a precondition for the beginning of the implementation of the Justice Reform, and of fundamental importance for Albania’s EU path.

The draft has been distributed to all members of the Ad Hoc Committee in the second half of June.
