Vice Chief of Prisons arrested over corruption

The Vice Chief of Prisons, Iljaz Labi, was arrested by the police this
Monday after a request made by the Prosecution of Serious Crimes. He is
accused of passive corruption.

There were arrest orders against four companies that supplied food to prisons.

The Prosecution say that the private companies had cooperated to create fictive public procurement procedures held by the Prison Directory.

Preliminary information say that these companies realized this scheme in cooperation with the Vice Chief of Prisons.
