Germany is involved with the justice reform process through the
assistance that offer the Euralius experts. For this reason they say
that the  reform should pass without losing anymore time.

The German Foreign Minister, who is attending a visit to Tirana, made this very clear in a declaration:

“The draft on table is a project that will give more independence to the justice system, with more promises in the fight against corruption. I hope that this project will not be left half-done, but it will pass as soon as possible”, he said in a meeting with his counterpart Ditmir Bushati.

Steinmeier said that if the political class fails with this reform, the country’s EU accession process will not be accelerated. He asked the political parties to put the country’s interests above the  personal ones and criticized the majority and opposition for the aggressive debates.

“Reforms don’t always bring gratitude and often have costs that are reflected in the election, but also you cannot come from the opposition to power by refusing everything. The opposition should  not thing for the short-termed profits”, he said.

Minister  Bushati insisted that the quality of the reform is very important. “The reform should be deep, so that it can serve as a model for other countries too”, Bushati said.
