The Minister of Transportation, Edmond Haxhinasto, explained on Top
Channel’s “Top Story” how the “Mother Theresa” airport concession
agreement was realized in order to remove exclusivity from the Tirana
International Airport.
The Minister confirmed the interest shown by a Chinese company to buy this concession, a company with which he said there have been discussions before voices that a Chinese company would buy shares.
The chairwoman of the Competition Authority has gone against the agreement for the airport concession.
“”There is room to negotiate that the economic damage created by the Kukes Airport is not to the level of requesting a two year postponement of the deadline”, said Lindita Lati, chairwoman of the Competition authority.
The Competition Authority made this declaration before the commission of economy at the Parliament.
