Environment authorities: “Deforestation moratorium is being implemented”

The Forest Police Director, Renaldo Culli, said that the moratorium for
stopping deforestation is being implemented. Culli listed in an
interview for Top Channel the measures that will be taken, which include
more staff and more cameras scattered around Albania.
“We are waiting for 200 recruits, which is still not enough for covering 20.000-30.000 hectares of forests. We know that with the cooperation of the State Police, the illegal deforestation will come to an end”, Culli said.
He said that the woods that were cut and reported in the media recently, belong to the time before the moratorium.
