US Ambassador: “Some judges, more expensive watches than my car”

The US Ambassador, Donald Lu, present at the National Justice
Conference, addressed to the Albanian judges by saying that if they have
watches more expensive than his car, chances are they are corrupted.
“There are honest and corrupted judges in Albania. Those who have taken money even once for a court verdict, they are corrupted. If they have watches more expensive than my car, they are corrupted. If this is the case, they should leave their profession right now”, Lu underlined.
“The honest ones should be faithful because the change is coming. You need to be promoted based on merit and experience. They must know that the justice system reform will not be easy. Huge and well thought reforms are needed”, the US Ambassador declared.
