Corrupted Judges and Prosecutors will no longer be part of the Albanian judiciary system, according to John Leonardo, US observer at the International Monitoring Operation in Tirana, part of the judiciary reform.

Leonardo says for the Tucson news portal that Albanians trust the judiciary reform, especially the participation of international partners in this process. According to him, the Vetting Law is key reform that will help the Albanian society leave the decade-long phenomenon of a corrupted judiciary.

Leonardo says that the team of international observers was made possible after the constitutional amends made by the Parliament.

The 71-year-old American, whose recent duty in the USA was that of a Federal Prosecutor in Arizona, for the past 5 years, says that during his time in Albania he noticed that citizens trust the USA. “I feel more appreciated there, with Albanians trusting us more than Western European countries”.
