Tusk to Albania and N.Macedonia: “Don’t give up”

The President of the European Commission, Donald Tusk, said that the decision to block the accession negotiations for Albania and Northern Macedonia is completely wrong.
“We shouldn’t blame Albania or Northern Macedonia about this decision. Both countries did what they were asked to do”, Tusk declared.
“The Prespa agreement was a great achievement. Both countries have the right to open accession negotiations. Unfortunately, there are some EU members that aren’t ready yet. This is why we couldn’t get a positive decision”, Tusk underlined.
“My message to the citizens of Albania and Northern Macedonia is not to give up. You will certainly become part of the EU one day”, he added.
