When the last three ballot boxes were yet to be counted for the Tirana
Municipality, Top Channel obliged the Central Election Commission to
correct their figures of the preliminary results.
Top-Channel’s results, based on the journalist’s reports from the terrain, were different to the results given by the Central Election Election for two Municipal Units.
After verifying the summary of the Zonal Election Commission, Top Channel reported this Friday an inconsistency at the Municipal Unit no.1.
This inconsistency was corrected by the Central Election Commission itself, a few minutes before this report.
On Saturday, an inconsistence of 108 votes resulted at the Municipal Unit no.8.
Soon after this report, the Central Election Commission corrected the numbers and their result became equal to Top Channel’s results.
The Central Election Commission offered the preliminary results of the elections online, with a delay of 30 to 45 minutes after the vote counting process had concluded.
This was a very good time for the Central Election Commission, compared to previous elections.
But Central Election Commission’s report, due to security procedures, was announced some minutes later than the reports of the TV stations that were on site.
However, in this effort for reporting fair news, Top Channel, different from the Central Election Commission, showed to be precise. One more standard in the efforts for making a serious and professional report.
