The English language certification through TOEFL will now be managed by the Public University. On the ceremony was also present the Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who declared that Albania is one of the only countries that have implemented by government decision the English language teaching in public schools.

“The government decision, a decision of this government, for what I have been informed, makes Albania the only country in Europe that teaches English by law. Despite the great demand and Albanian’s gift on learning foreign languages, it hasn’t been possible for language certification to achieve the appropriate level. English will be an obligatory language on high schools”, Berisha said.

American ambassador complimented this initiation as a very ambitious one.

“This partnership will be on the behalf of all students, including all age groups, but at the same time, is one more responsibility on the shoulders of Tirana University”, Arvizu declared.

All students who would like to continue their studies for master degree and PhD title should firstly pass the English test.

During the day, the head of the government inaugurated the new building of the Kamza University constructed with a government fund of 300 million lek (2.12 million Euros)

“Today, 70% of the students that finish high-schools continue the university studies. I guarantee that the government will continue to support the investments on your university and all other universities in the country. The campuses that are being built today are creating a series of universities, and we will do all possible that our universities get equipped with modern laboratories. We will do all possible that professors come with the best qualifications. The students must achieve high results and high quality studies”, Berisha declared.
