Acoustic pollution is now part of our everyday life. The level of noises around the country remains above EU levels, but Tirana is the noisiest city, according to a monitoring made by the National Agency of Environment
Noises go from 80-90 decibels by day, to 60-70 by night. The EU norms are 55 db and 45 db respectively
The study says that noises also affect our behavior. Besides causing distraction at work, it also leaves negative effects on our health.
“Some people may suffer hearing loss, but not only. There is also the risk of higher blood pressure, hypertension and sleep disruption”, says Ariola Merepeza, a psychologist.
