The Minister of Education, Besa Shahini, declared in a press release that the Rector of the Tirana University, Mynyr Koni, is suspended from his duties.
Shhaini said that the decision was taken to resolve the stalemate created at the Tirana University.
“It is hard to suspend a rector elected by votes. I am convinced that the president will take the right decision and resolve the stalemate at the Tirana University”, Koni said.
The Rector responded by saying that he was expecting the situation to reach this point, after the frequent attacks.
“It is now clear who orders the Minister and who wants to rob the assets of the Tirana University”, Koni wrote on Facebook.
