Tirana is now part of the European Youth Capitals network.

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, was invited by the local authorities of Amiens, France, to attend the official initiation of activities as European Youth Capital 2020, after being declared the winner this November.

“This is a beautiful day for Tirana because we became part of the European Youth Capitals network.

“Our turn will be in 2022. Amiens just received the leadership for this year, then it will go on with Lithuania, and in 2022 it will be Tirana’s turn”, Veliaj declared.

The Mayor of Tirana said that the Albanian capital, together with many youth organizations, has prepared an ambitious agenda for having a successful year in 2022.

“We prepared an ambitious agenda with youth organizations. The Municipality of Tirana is prepared to have a successful year, as the city and the country of young people, of hope and optimism”, Veliaj declared.
