The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, declared today at the National Conference for reinforcing dialogue on local government finances that the Election Day will be a day for confronting ideas and focusing on the real needs of citizens.
“I hope that on June 30th we may have concrete alternatives on how we can make our cities better. Let’s not confuse the drama of some politicians with the needs of our city to be cleaned each day, with the kindergartens to be opened each day, and so that the city can open its tourist season”, Velaij said.
He underlined that if the elections are not held on the decided day, after that, citizens will be unable to have these services.
The Mayor said that June 30th will be the day of confronting the ideas and projects, focusing on the needs of the Albanian people.
He appealed the other Mayors to make good use of the cooperation with the business community, to improve the infrastructure and services.
