Dozens of Albanian families participated in the celebrations for the
closure of the school year in a Thessaloniki park, organized by the
Albanian Association “Mother Tereza”.

The 98 Albanian children of this school recited Albanian poems under the applauses of their parents.

Although the Albanian embassy in Athens provided 60 alphabet books, 20 Grammar books and 20 History books, the massive participation of the children comes as a need for greater assistance from the Albanian state.

“I would appreciate more dedication from the Albanian state, because despite our volunteering work, the Albanian government must add a strong helping hand to the great amount of efforts that is being given here”, said Rudina Çani, one of the teachers.

The volunteering teachers of this school, the first of this kind to teach the Albanian language in Greece, appealed all Albanians that live in Thessaloniki to bring their children in the next new academic year.
